Texas boast a population of over 600,00 Rio Grande Turkeys and has liberal bag limits in most of its counties. That's why so many hunters travel to Texas and have such high success rates.

Val Verde County Ranch

The Val Verde Ranch Consist of 7,500 acres locked on the Edwards Plateau near the town of Del Rio,Texas.
This Region of Texas has a huge population of Rio Grande Turkeys, and this ranch in no exception.
Seeing hundreds of Rios in a day and 20 or more mature gobblers are common.
The Terrain varies from thick brush covered draws to open ridges that allow
the opportunity to observe birds form a great distance.
The property is well watered with natural and manmade water stations and has numerous dirt ponds.
 There are no cattle on the property and is solely maintained and manipulated
for the numerous species of wildlife that roam the property.
 Along with Rio Grande Turkeys and Whitetail Deer,
there are many species of exotics that inhabit the property as well.
  Exotics may be combined with a Spring Turkey Hunt such as Axis Deer and many species of antelope.

We offer semi guided and fully guided hunts that consist of 2-1/2 days of hunting with meals and lodging.
Semi guided hunts include a guide that will set you out well before daylight
near a well-known roost and strut zones. 
You will have the opportunity to move about or stay put whatever you preference
or hunting style or the situation requires.
  You will also have cell service with your guide to be repositioned later in the morning if needed. 
On fully guided hunts you will be teamed up with your guide who knows the ranch and bird’s habits. 
This is a great way to learn the ranch and the techniques we use.

Lodging at the Val Verde Ranch is very comfortable with all the amenities of home.

You can expect great home cooked meals and hospitality.
The four bedroom four bath lodge can sleep 10 comfortably
and has great dining areas as well as outside entertainment areas.
